Daniel S. Weiss, Ph.D., is Professor of Medical Psychology at the U.C.S.F. His major areas of study include personality assessment, psychotherapy assessment and measurement, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Weiss has been a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on research grants from the National Institutes of Mental Health, Drug Abuse, and Alcohol and Alcoholism, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and NASA. He is also a regular commissioner for the Board of Psychology of the State of California. He has published extensively and has served as a reviewer for over 20 academic journals.

A recipient of the Laufer award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement, Weiss graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Johns Hopkins University, where he also earned a master's in Psychology. He received his Ph.D. in Personality/Clinical Psychology from the U.C. Berkeley.
