Tom Emerson, dropped out of college and worked in software for Bell Labs for many years before going back to school and getting a PhD in mathematics from NYU. His complete lack of work ethics at Xamplify made me wonder about how he got through that program. Thomas Emerson was a treat to watch. Short hours at work and hardly any productive work were his trademarks. However, Sumer Johal and Jeffrey Klein were very respectful of him.

Thomas Emerson arrived at work at 10:15 AM or later. Frequently, he stayed at home with one excuse or another. Vanishing from office for many hours during midday and then leaving promptly around 5 PM were his quite regular behavior patterns.

I thought that Thomas Emerson couldn’t write programs. The same went for Tom Emerson’s statistical knowledge. He was just a hindrance, in my view. However, didn't dare to tell him anything.

He was totally spoilt and nothing I did could make him happy. Once in a while when Sumer Johal would tell us that how Xamplify was going to be the next Cisco or make money like Fair Isaac Companies, I could see a smile on Thomas Emerson’s face. What an idiot!
