Digital Sandbox and Robert Mark
Digital Sandox, according to its website: 'Digital Sandbox and its flagship software solution, Site Profiler®, deliver the most comprehensive platform for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), enabling real-time threat analysis and operational risk management for government agencies and commercial organizations.'
Co-founders Anthony Beverina and Bryan Ware and Monumental Venture Partners' Jeff Friedman and Roland Oliver are on its board of directors. Its board of advisors consistes of (as of March 2005) a few names including that of Dr. Robert M. Mark. Yes, the same Bob Mark that was the CEO of infamous Xamplify (noted for its business fraud and racial discrimination controversy). However, a detailed biography on Digital fails to reveal the Xamplify part about Dr. Mark!
Digital Sandbox mentions that "Dr. Robert M. Mark is the Chief Executive Officer of Black Diamond which provides corporate governance, risk management consulting and transaction services. ...Prior to his current position, Dr. Mark was the Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). As a member of the Management Committee Dr. Mark's global responsibility covered all credit, market and operating risks for all of CIBC as well as for its subsidiaries. Prior to his CRO position, he was the Corporate Treasurer at CIBC." Hey, why no word about Xamplify where he spent about 2 years as a senior executive, including about a year as its CEO?
Either this company knows about Robert Mark's background and decided to omit it or it does not do checks on its advisors. Does not seem to inspire much confidence in this company.
