The company claimed that:1
Xamplify's team is rounded out by a fantastic group of young developers from Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, and Harvard.
My comments: Wow. "young developers." And what is this about "from Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, and Harvard?" Also what happened to these young developers from Berkeley, Stanford, MIT and Harvard by the time I joined Xamplify?
Later it also claimed that it had "20+ mostly geeks" working for it.2
Right!
There was one woman in the company. As you guessed, she was the secretary or the executive assistant. She was Elaine. In the hierarchy of employees both Elaine and I were of nearly same status,i.e. at the bottom. I guess her salary was lower than mine though she had health coverage and I didn't. She was getting married, hinted to us many times, but the top executives didn't want to be bothered about such trivial matters especially when it concerns an executive assistant. A couple of days before her wedding, an employee sent us an email and finally a small amount was collected to give to her as a gift.
There were a few other women who indirectly worked for the company. They were the janitorial staff. Besides them, we had about 3 part-time staff which showed up once in a week or so. One of them was a woman, one was an Afro-American and one was a South Asian. Just the way it was.
